#LAVECON Summer 2013

On the evening of Saturday 29th June we will be hosting the Summer 2013 #LaveCon event!

All four hosts have arranged to be at the same location in meat-space and would like to invite listeners of the show and fans of Elite Dangerous to come along as well.

This is our first meeting, so we're expecting things to be low-key. If you're interested in Elite, eating, drinking and breathing then why not join us in sunny Cheltenham for a night of enchantment & wonder / drinking & good times.

All attendees will receive a limited edition gift that has virtually no monetary value.

Depends on your brightness.. mine is AWESOME in a relatively dark room.. not great in sunlight at all

There's no set venue at the moment. We need a good idea of how many people are coming before we know what's going to be happening.

So far the only thing booked is our hotel rooms, at the Cheltenham Thistle.

How much was the bookings and how long did you book ? I am 4 hours away so would need to stay...

How about we chip in and hire a local hall?

Has anyone approached FD for support, I guess not financially but maybe some content and they could send some staff down for chats etc...

They had a web offer of £65 for twin or double room. Check it out, should be available.

Fozza is keen to hire a room if we have numbers. Vance why it is so important to get people expressing interest.

Not sure about FD support. Don't want to take up their tome and resources unless there's major interest.

Yeah, FD are gonna be tied up I suppose, maybe just an exclusive video (early release) instead

I got my room booked... now i looked at train tickets but i don't fancy £140 for a return.. so Im staying with Allen for the rest of my life.

No I will most likely drive down, SO anyone from Glasgow or surrounding areas fancy a run down? My tiny vehicle is open to 3 or less passengers.
Drive down Saturday morning 9am depart... arrive 6 - 7 hours later 8 if we take it easy and stop for coffee's.

I am a safe driver, worked for years on the road doing PC repairs all over the UK, I have no criminal convictions for murder or any assaults of any nature.. only 1 black mark for an argument with a sheep. I have had no points on my license ever and drive like a granny. My car is a Hyundai Getz and is small so it would take 3 people at a push with luggage being an issue. 2 comfortably.
Mild scent of fart but I have a magic tree. (mild for my sense of smell)

If you would like to take a spot in the toot toot chugga chugga wee green car pm me. I can pick you up within reason if need be. Contributions to the beer kitty on arrival will suffice as payment. Actually I may not have the Mazda then, I may have a Fiat 500L.. so possible room for 3 comfortably..

anyway we'll make plans for the mazda..

I would love to go, but unless that Fiat 500L is capable of A: Flying B: Oceanic travel I'm afraid im stuck here in the USA. However if someone has a spare place on a private jet or even a Sidewinder that can do pickups I'll throw you in a couple of beers

Hmm, trains from London are only about £40 return - not too bad. Need to see if I have the time though, June is a bit crazy for me.
