Lavian Brandy has disappeared

So I was trying to unlock Didi Vatermann tonight on my engineers grind, and came across a discovery. Lave Station has no Lavian Brandy, effectively roadblocking my grind. I relogged to make sure I wasn't mistaken, and there was still nothing on the commodity market except for "mineral oil." I checked EDDB for Lavian Brandy, and there isn't even a record of it in the commodities list. Does this have something to do with the fact that Lave is now in Famine? If it does, I don't think an intended game mechanic should ever lock content behind a wall, and if it was unintended, I believe this needs to be promptly addressed.

I guess, you bought some of it before. 12 or 24 pieces? You have to give this to the engineer first, after that, there will be Brandy available again. I encountered this either.

Exactly. It's the same with every Rare-Commodity. "They" only sell a specific contingent of that goods to every single commander at a time.

Appreciate the quick responses, I looked at your inara link and see the stock of 3500 brandy. Not sure why it's not appearing on my market. In fact only one commodity is actually appearing in my market window and that is mineral oil. I checked my filters and theyre all checked properly. I've never purchased it before, on this account. I checked my cargo hold and it's empty.

Uncheck "High Demand/Stock", "Present at Cargo" and "Required for Mission" and see what happens.

Negative. I even went as far as unchecking everything except "Rare Goods" and now it just says "No commodities match selected filters." As if it doesn't exist at all. This is also the first station I've ever been to where instead of the item populating and showing a supply of 0, it just doesn't populate at all, leading me to believe this is a very new bug maybe not discovered until now?

Yea I was wondering where it went too

Famine tends to cause a 99% reduction in the supply of most goods, and rares don't start with a big supply in the first place. Outbreak can have a similar effect, and for low-supply rares even things like War can be pretty bad. (Conversely, Boom and Civil Liberty will tend to significantly increase supply, making the engineer unlocking easier and making rare-based trade routes better)

It's a major design goal that the game universe be dynamic and respond to player activity. If the only consequences allowed were positive ones, then it would be a complete waste of time to implement as no-one ever had to care about it. The Famine will end soon enough - faster, if players try to address it by importing food and other essential goods. It will then only come back later as a result of further player actions ... which might mean "never", if players ensure that it's fought off.
