Who knew that "laze" didn't mean lying on a couch with a cup of tea, or just doing nothing under a tree after a walk?
Well it seems that it's also a portmanteau of "Lava" and "Haze" - and it sounds as horrible as possible: seems when lava hits seawater, it explodes the silicon based rock into tiny flying glass shards and if that wasn't bad enough there's a chemical reaction that generates clouds of hydrochloric acid.
This is what's taking place at the beaches in Hawaii where the lava is hitting the water:

This is definitely making me less keen for volcanic planets... it'll wreck paintjobs!!
