Lazy Vendors!!!

Hi all,
Could someone help me please? I'm new to this game and admittedly not very good at games in general :(

I'm having problems with my vendors in franchise mode. Most of them are showing as low efficiency. I monitored the vendors' performance for a year and found that some of them don't even serve any customers!

I have set up work zones for each area in my zoo (Far East, India, New World, Africa), and trained a ratio of 2 vendors for every 1 shop to level 5 (because my zoo opening hours are so long). Do I need to specify which shop each vendor works in to get better utilisation from them? All my other staff are perfect, but these vendors are costing me a lot of money, and I need to bump sales up. Despite them having shops without vendors, they're all wandering around or in the rec rooms 😭

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated

Can you post a screen of the zoo and their work zone? It might help figure out the problem.

Also: how many guests do you have? If there are more shops than the guests need there won't be any interest in them and therefore no profit/efficiency.

Check under facilities tab to see how high demand is for each shop. If there are too few customers to serve, no matter how well-trained your staff are, they can't be efficient.

Thank you both :)

I'm averaging about 7.5k-8.5k guests.

I've made sure all the shops are in areas where guests need them and they're all 'high demand' or 'efficient'.

I keep getting the error 'Oops there was a problem' when I try to load an image. Is there another way I can send you the work zone pictures?

Try resizing the pic so the file isn't bigger than 1MB and make sure it's saved either as jpeg or png that should work :)

In that case and if the shops are close to the staff rooms my guess would be that you simply have too many vendors on your payroll. I usually have as many vendors as shops +half of that, so if there are 4 shops I hire 6 vendors for them and that works perfectly so far, no idle vendors and no empty shops either.

Thank you everyone!

I was really worried about posting on here, you're all awesome ♥

I'll try going down to 1.5x and see how that goes - if nothing else, it will save me some cash ;)

No problem :)

Okay, from what I can see in those screens it looks like quite a few vendors have pretty long ways to go to reach a staff room, which in turn leads to them getting fairly tired before they're even back at the shop. Try placing the staff rooms for vendors as close to the shops as possible so they can spend less time traveling and more time at the shops.

Low efficiency (assuming you are referring to the orange faces in the staff menu) does not refer to lazy vendors, but indicates that you have too many vendors in relation to the actually needed numbers to man the shops. As long as you can afford paying too many vendors, low efficiency is better than completely overworked vendors. Although staff may leave if they have too little work and get bored. But this is no problem, just some kind of self-regulation, and you don’t need to replace them. Zoo opening hours have no effect on anything except the daylight, i.e. If your zoo is only open from around sunrise to sunset, you never or only briefly get darkness. That’s all.

A ratio of 2 vendors per shop is good for untrained staff, so each of them can get a break while the other works. Once you trained them up to level 5, they can work faster and serve more customers than before and I think they also don’t get tired as quickly, so you should be able to reduce the number of vendors and save staff costs.

Hi there, I would also recommend smaller work areas if there are still many shops vacant, if that is not enough with the staff facilities. Since the employees like to run around everywhere, it can happen that everyone is bustling around in one corner and is tired if they are needed at the other end.

Fully agree with this one.. Especially with the ratio 2/1 - when you have 5* vendors that sometimes feels too much...
Just keep an eye on the shops income in your finance tab. If your income steadily drops, maybe start worrying about your vendors.
Rather have slighty too many vendors.

Btw, judging from your screenshots - you are doing pretty good !!

Thank you everyone!

I've almost got the park stabilised, thanks to your advice. It's a small profit, but a profit none the less :)

I've also noticed people aren't going to the far end of my zoo, so I've put more benches for resting and a shuttle service.

Is there anything else I can do to make sure the give my park a good go?

PS you're all awesome human beings ♥🙏
