Leap Frogging Technique for Avoiding Chain Interdictions

We've all had it happen.

You get interdicted just as you're approaching the station. If you try to return to Supercruise without leaving the system, you're interdicted again in a few moments. And, it pulls you back a ways so you are farther from the station. This leads to a chain of interdiction after interdiction which is very annoying.

Jumping to another system will break the chain, and that's how I've been dealing with these.

But here's another method I've been trying lately that is a little less painful. Just a little. But you may find it helpful.

Couldn't watch video, (useless 3G connection!).
But my method, is simply to hop in and out of supercruise as rapidly as possible. Lol
Seems to break the chain.
You make literally no progress, but after the 3rd or 4th drop down, either nothing spawns, of it takes forever. :D
After that, nothing will chase you. Though it may drop down at your destination.

Isn't Zig Zagging a less frustrating method? They can only interdict you if they're directly behind you with their nose pointed at your rear, right? So if you don't give them the angle to interdict, they can't do anything.

I've never had luck with zig-zagging against NPCs. They seem to be able to jump in right behind you when they spawn (and each one is a new copy, not the same NPC). They even spawn in *front* of you sometimes.

Anyway, this is just a possible option. I'm sure it won't work for everyone.

Man you're in a Cutter, you don't have to do any of that.

Put 7 mine launchers in that thing, class 6 shield, 1 chaff, and 7 shielod boosters.

When interdicted by any ship, all you have to do is:

1 - Align to the destination. Don't boost.
2 - Put 4 pips in SYS
3 - let the pirate line up behind you. Don't boost. If he starts firing you can drop chaff.
4 - Start showering him with mines. Maniac laughter is optional but recommended.

No more interdictions.

Very funny Mine Launcher response. ^ ha-ha, I never considered this.

My method has always been:

1. Main ship: Submit and take out that pesky critter, its the only way to be sure. Scoop up the cargo and get to the station.
2. Explorer: I carry no weapons except chaff, so I boost away until that sucker is almost off the radar and then SC away, flying around the station in a wide arc to approach it from behind instead of going straight ahead.

If I need to get to the next system in a ship, I submit and boost towards it, selecting Frame Shift Drive key to jump from normal flight to the next system directly. The server is so slow that it takes long enough for them to pop up in the next system that I can jump ahead. I never hang around scooping and just jump ASAP.

Remember, always fly away from the target to gain speed quickly, so head off into deep space and then turn sharply after maybe 5 seconds to take up the wide curve, as you will be running side-on to the attacker, you cant be stopped. Everything is circles in this game, and nothing is straight forward.

I have had a great deal of success outmanoeuvering NPCs in SC as of late... Particularly because bounty hunters seem to chase me across the galaxy for my wanted level in ONE SYSTEM (I've never seen them do that before - even got interdicted by a bounty hunter NPC in the Pleiades Sector!).

Dropping out of hyperspace and fuel scooping to suddenly see a hostile NPC pop up and threaten you: Loop-the-loop.
1. Get out of the star's corona
2. Activate FSD to high wake
3. While waiting for FSD to charge, loop-the-loop. It's much harder for the NPC to get behind you like this.
4. After you get the message telling you align to your destination, swing your ship round to align and you will immediately start to high wake.

Moving in Supercruise: Try to get behind your attacker

Approaching a station: Standard procedure - submit, chaff, boost
After getting back into Supercruise, if you're still being followed, try to get your attacker to hit the planet - fly close, or even skim the orbital level if it's landable.

Doesn't always work, but it gives an immense sense of accomplishment when it does.
