Leaps And Bounds Expedition

Right now im on an endurance trip, im making my way all the way through an arm where il then reach the outer perimeter of the galaxy. Once there il begin making my way around the full perimeter of the galaxy where il begin making economic routes. Once i reach a close point from colonia, il make a pit stop straight there and back to exactly where i made a turn for colonia, continuing my trip, once im close to the bubble, same thing, and then back around to where i started my perimeter journey, continuing back home down the same arm to complete my journey. Has anyone else every tried to do this? I had hoped i would be the first one with full documentation of my trip, ive got the market connector tool and ive got every jump so far documented. This will be my fourth and final attempt to do this and i plan on getting it done

Into the last 12kly of doing the same thing - no pit stops though, all in one go.

It's taken 18 months and I've not done anything really mad like switching to economic routes - just with a stock Cobra I'm closing in on 30,000 jumps. If you really want to do the whole thing on economic then prepare to be out there for *years* - if you're in something with a longer range then your edge will be further out than mine and you'll potentially be able to go quite a lot further down some of the arms so you could be travelling many tens of kylies more than the ~650kly I'll have done when I dock.

@ Iain666: That is an epic expedition! Very nice. I bet it will take multiple gaming sessions just to sell all your data. I hope you remember how to dock (or had the foresight to bring a docking computer).

Are you following around the edge of the galaxy as indicated on the map too? FWIW I'm going clockwise but not at the very edge (currently at about 8.30 if you can imagine where the hour hand would be).

I started the same trip a month ago. Went to the southern meridian and from there I started to visit all of the systems on the very edge of the galaxy. In 20 kylies or so I was unable to reach only 2 of them.

Then the 2.3 beta came along with the news of a new engineering mod to lower the mass of the sensors and I came back to the bubble. Lighter sensors will add a couple of ly to my annie, and that will lower the jumponium usage.

I will try again after that.

Docking computer? No room for that It'll only be about 600 pages of data to sell....
