So, when you go to the galaxy map, you'll see stars identified with various letters and numbers, like M5 V.
Perhaps you heard about the first letter, OBAFGKMLTY, and that L,T,Y are not scoopable. But what do the first codes mean? and what are the other letter and numbers?
There are way to classify stars by hottest to coolest.
O is the hottest and it goes down from there . Within each letter, it's broken down further by numbers. 0 is the hottest and 9 is the coolest.
So a M5 is hotter than an M6. The Roman Numerals indicate what kind of star it is. a main star, V, a kind of giant (I-IV)

If you know this, you can get a pretty good idea of what the star is going to be like just by checking the galaxy map before hand.
