Learned something interesting about the Kickstarter special ships...

So, I started my Let's Play with the Kickstarter special: Upgraded Cobra MkIII with a Federal Bounty. Having the Cobra seemed to give me a pretty good head-start on release day, because - Cobra! With more guns and upgraded cargo hold and stuff!

It was a pretty sweet start, I'm not going to lie. However, it's not all that much of an advantage, really - the main reason is the entire thing is Loaned! Yea, if I lose it all, I get to get back to this Cobra as a starting point. But if I want to DOWNGRADE to a Viper, I still need to save up 200,000credits or so.

The next viable ship upgrade is a Type-6, if I want to do more haulage stuff. Even with my starter Cobra, I have to save up the full 1.2(ish) million credits - I get no trade-in value for the Loaned Cobra Mk III. Just thought that was interesting (and very fair!)

LOL, you can make for more money with a Cobra from the start. strip her out and squeeze 60 tonnes of cargo inside, or strip her down and she'll jump 27-28LY! Gear her up and shes a good hunting machine.
Cobra fast, big, far and hard.
