Ok. Not a criticism against anything other than my lack of knowledge. Being a 'Premium Beta' tester, I am used to finding out everything about the game in the forums and design discussion archives. As good as the information is, it kinda takes away from the 'Game Immersion Experience'.
So, I promised myself that once launch happened, I'd stick to learning about everything 'In Game' and stay out of the forums. (Except for the Newsletters and any 'News Flashes' they used to do. Which were *REALLY* nice touches.)
Well, that's lasted until just now, when I came back into the forums to report and follow up on a few 'Issues' I'm experiencing, and trying to find out if it was just a problem I was having, or game issue.
I mean. I go through every panel in my ship and at the stations... I try to immerse myself into learning about the game. I even found out that "Achenar" is the center of imperial power! But find nothing about information like:
- Founder's world, with Discounts on items. (other than the 'Permit' to it, but no idea where it is)
- Ranking up in parallel factions. (Really?)
- There's a 'war' going on? (Huh)
- How do you use the Electronic Counter Measures, and why doesn't it have a button for it's own. (Like Heatsinks and Shield Cells)
So my question is...
How is this information learn able 'In-Game'? I mean, I've read the articles about an Uncle who was eaten by his pet, leaving an illegitimate Daughter to vy for the throne while the Emperor is in declining health.
If I can't find the info and i've been in this game for months., and don't even know about the benefits I have as a Beta Backer, how the heck are any new Commanders going to do so now that they've just now started in the game?
