So my very first experience of ED on release showed me how unforgiving this game can be and how seriously steep the initial learning curve is, I enjoyed getting to grips with the mechanics of the game but it was more a (large) collection of hilarious fails parody watching me play the game. Crashing into space stations, other ships, landing pads, melting myself in a sun, cocking up planetary approaches, pin balling off asteroids, you get the idea and I admit I was a smidgen frustrated that I couldn't seem to get to grips with the mechanics and I didn't seem to be initially improving.
Throughout my second session last night however one by one everything I was struggling with for me just......clicked into place, i'm far from a accomplished pilot and still have plenty of improvement but now I am having minimal struggles on anything like docking, combat, planetary approaches, refueling on suns etc.
Now that initial steep b*st*rd of a learning curve has been squashed the whole experience has really turned into something else (initial experience was already amazing for me) and any slight frustration has vanished completely, for anyone who reads this who is brand new to the game and having similar struggles I just say keep at it and don't give up. It's so worth it.
Now somebody on here give me a chufties Blue Peter badge to put on the side of my Viper MKIV
