Leaving Colonia

I have a couple fine ships docked in Colonia as well. I really like it out there. I'm planning to build a long-range Anaconda for Neutron Highway usage. With some practice they tell me I can make the journey to Colonia in just 2 or 3 hours. I hope it's true, because I'd like to go back and forth a bit :)
Interesting idea, might be a reason for me to finally get an Anaconda. Of course my Krait Phantom already jumps from NS to NS until I run out of fuel and have to step off the road, so there might be no point. Maybe an Annie with big fuel tanks...

1) The small size makes the entire region easily accessible, being allied to most all factions of note is great for running missions about the place
2) Having engineers and material traders only two or three hops from each other is great, and the engineers are getting better and better
3) As a base for exploring from or mining Colonia is better than anywhere.
5) Less good is the lack of A rated modules. That is annoying
6) Then shipping stuff from the bubble gets really expensive, especially an A rated well equipped Corvette
7) Even if there was something you wanted from the bubble, quite frankly, you don't bother because while getting back to the bubble takes 30 seconds getting back to Colonia can be a drag. Especially if you've done it a few times before. And you thought forgetting limpets was a pain in the ...

well, that's 6 reasons not to go to colonia if the thought ever crosses my mind. which it did, knowing that some pvp spirited folks here are hanging out there lately for some reason. felt it might be fun. the feeling subsided.

4) Being in Colonia gives a different perspective of the game, that helps broaden the appeal, at least in my opinion

this is interesting. i've been out in the black a bit, i know that feeling. but given i have crisscrossed the entire bubble, several times, and never gave a toss about its politics (and that's genuine roleplaying, my character just laughs at all those sharks and snake oil sellers) i dunno how a countryside version of the same could be appealing, or change my perspective.

So I recommend everyone take a visit, you might end up staying a while, it's a part of the fun of just how big the game is.

i will, some day. a visit is something i never ruled out, except ...

Now, just to decide where to call home in the bubble...

... i just think bigger. the entire milky way is my home. waiting for new age era to free me and open new horizons!

And all the people at Colonia said \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ .........

I honestly believe the whole Colonia experiment is being run by someone who is doing a thesis in pyschology. How long before x% start to commit suicide ? Now he/she has found out, switch it all back on again :D

I have to admit I hadn't noticed the upgrade in modules available - that does seem an oversight! Nevertheless I'm still ready to return to the bubble and have some time there for a bit.

In fairness I have a Corvette, an Anaconda, Python, FDL, Mamba, Krait 2, Challenger, FGS and AspX all engineered and A rated stored at Colonia Dream, as well as a bunch of A rated modules so if I decide to go back I think I'll take a Diamondback next time! I think it counts as maintaining an interest...

Now I write it down I've got a lot of stuff there!

yeah I went out there recently. it was neat to visit but the lack of outfitting was a drag. A lot of my gameplay out there was just trying to outfit a ship. Lots of cool nebulae to explore.

Ultimately, I didn't like how the sky looked out there. it was just too weird, and the skybox looking like an actual box didn't help. It was just kind of unsettling and I wasn't enjoying the visuals, especially as a VR player. I liked it A LOT more going the other way out towards the rim.

I still think it would have been a cool idea to have a CG where someone is constructing a Import Emporium Trading Post. They import all the items from the bubble that aren't sold in Colonia.

It's been done before .... I didn't manage to complete a single delivery in the first Bubble to Colonia CG, I took a Cobra IV and it was before the Engineers and neutron jumps .... it was too slow !

But now, a Bubble-Colonia CG would be eminently possible for a lot of ships
