Leaving Supercruise

Just wondering why, when i leave supercruise for a dock (seems to be chango), that it can sometimes take a couple of seconds before i'm back in control of the ship and sometimes up to 10 minutes (yes..10 minutes!)before gameplay can resume. Truth be told i got bored after one particularly long wait and quit the game.

Is it me?

Nope.
As I understand it what's happening is that all the shaking and rattling around is actually a cover for the game code trying to get you into an instance that's already at your desired location. If there isn't one then it tries to create one and drop you in it.
Sometimes if there are lots of players, or lots of things going on it can get stuck or fail.
Most of the time it's fine but on occasion it doesn't work as it should.
This is one of the issues with the Beta at the moment. The devs are working very hard on it and come the next update I expect we'll get an improvement in performance.

Nope it is not you, it is the way the servers currently adjudicate the instancing subsystem of the game. Currently they often take a long time to find a suitable instance for you to join, explaining the wait times.

This is actually the one thing that I hope they improve rather sooner than later, since the wait times (or resetting because of the wait times) are getting me out of the flow and feel quite jarring and disconnect me somewhat from the game experience.

I see! Thanks for the info. I did try and search for it but my impatience got in the way.

Early days as yet - i'm sure it'll all work out fine.
