Leesti, zaonce, lave and reidquat

Stars that were the starting point for the original elite and a certain start position in frontier.

Although these stars don't exist in our real galaxy (at least not under those names) braben seems keen to make our galaxy handcrafted for realism for the portion of space 100 ly radius of sol.

Does this mean we'll lose these beloved system names in E: D?
Or will they be kept despite a slight knock to realism?

I do already understand the entire game will be realistic to a point and then wherever fun is lost, it replaces the realistic aspect to keep the spirit of the original intact and stuff, so I probably just answered my own question. In other words: We will keep reidquat, lave, leesti, zaonce et al...

Am I right?

Given Allen's book is called Lave Revolution I think we're pretty safe in keeping a fair few of the "old worlds."

Unless the revolution in mind is a change of name to SAO1234567.

Lave definitely will be as it's the primary location for one of the supported books. FD have already stated that wherever possible, the fiction from the KS book licences will be included in the game universe in some way.

I'm unsure how FD plan to do that - whether one of the 119,000 nearby systems will be renamed or Lave will be located in an unspecified area - but it will be there, somewhere.

As for the other systems you mentioned... <shrugs>

He could simply relocate these stars to a different area of the galaxy outside of this crafted region. I wouldn't mind if it wasn't slavishly faithful in that regard to the previous games, and would quite happily turn a blind eye to it.

Something like how it was handled in Frontier would suit me, since those are the iconic systems from Elite. I still remember the first time I managed to dock at Leesti and the warm glow I had at school the following day.

Lave will be in for sure.

I did not say this. I am not here.

Hm. It has been a while, but why is Diso not mentioned in this inner circle of ... initial fuel range considerations? :p

Edit: Apart from the fact that insanephoton did! Right on Commander! :D

Bear in mind that most of the known stars don't have names, just some silly numbers, that propably in most cases will be renamed.

Also, you can find Lave and others in MiniElite movie.

no love for Tionisla (tea-on-izla)? I tell you New California is a beautiful world and worth a trip.

I wonder if there is a way to incorporate the old classic suns into a more 'real' galaxy? Keep Lave et all but add actual planets like a normal system etc?

OR

Come up with a reason why these systems are what they are, just suns plus a space station? Maybe they were left/created by the Thargoids (it was eventually discovered)?

They had a sun, one planet and an orbital station.

• The trading centre for this region of unusual systems. Through some unexplained quirk of nature all systems have just one inhabited world orbiting a single star. These systems are often known as "The Old Worlds" as they were amongst the first to be settled, despite their lack of gas giants. They were also renowned for their lawlessness as only the corporate states in the region had any police force to speak about.

Of course, that may well all change.
