Hi, is it possible to have the left fire groups on the left mouse button on the left hand side of the HUD, and the right hand fire groups for the right mouse button on the right hand side of the HUD? I think that would be so much easier.

The 'Primary' trigger is on the right with the 'Secondary' on the left. If you want to change the definition of the trigger buttons to be something else you will need to change definitions of 'weapons/primary fire' and 'weapons/secondary fire'. They are found (at least on a PC) under OPTIONS:CONTROLS:WEAPONS selection on the main menu. Change them to your desired keys, apply, and save.
Yes it is - change your fire button assignments. (As already stated by IamKnowjaun.)
Why you would want to fire your primary weapons with your middle finger and secondary with index one seems strange to me. Unless of course maybe this suggestion is for for left-handed people?
I dont want to swap the mouse buttons around, I like pressing left for primary and right for secondary. I just want them left to right on the HUD?
I understand your notion. It would be more natural to have the primary weapon group on the left side for mouse. But then there are also game pads and hotas where right side for primary makes sense. So I doubt this wish will go anywhere.

Oh I must have been having a brain fade earlier, sorry, I see exactly what you mean now.
Gosh, even as a non-combat type I wonder how I would cope with my fire button 1 spitting death from the left hand side of my view.

This is an old post but I would like to second the notion that the HUD positions for Secondary and Primary are backwards. Placement should be flipped so Secondary is on the right and Primary on the left. I read from left to right so it seems odd to me that the main fire group is not first on the left.
