Lefty....Maybe

After reading some posts on lefties having trouble findin left handed joysticks I was wondering If anyone was similar to myself. I am left handed but when using a controller be it mouse or flight stick I go right handed. Using a controller in my left hand feels as awkward as writing with my right.

Anyone else?

Left, right...

I am right handed and so is my joystick but I use both equally well with a mouse, it was hard at the start but after a month or so both sides feel fine and changing relieves RSI.

The same for joysticks I would think. Just practice using the other hand sometimes.

Being left handed is one hell of a problem, I should know being a leftie myself. I wouldn't opt for using my right hand, my opinion, for this game, joystick is the way to go. The only really good option I came across for a joystick that can be rigged for left handed & opted for myself, is the Thrustmaster T16000M, a fine stick, do a search for it in the forum, you'll read some decent comments on it.

I'm a leftie, but relatively ambidextrous..

I used to use a Cyborg 3d, which could be configured as a leftie. Worked fantastically but a bit grindy. The button springs have fallen out and it needed a bit of fixing after many years hard work.

Recently bought an x52 (standard) which I've had to use right-handed. The light springs that most complain about aren't really a problem and are probably better for a leftie to use. Just had to re-train. HOTAS feels great once you're used to it, but can be a bit tiring.

I am left handed. But I use the mouse with my right hand. Use the mouse with my left hand would be for me, like eating or write with my right hand, a disaster

I sometimes think that the definition of being left handed is incorrect. I'm a lefty because I write (and always have done) with my left hand. But for everything else I use my right hand. The odd thing is that I can also write perfectly well with my right hand except for the fact that is the absolute reverse of my left hand. In other words, you'd only be be able to read it by holding it up to a mirror. It's a great party trick tho. :p

Yes left and right handed is a dynamic thing

I'm the same, have always written with my left, but throw a ball, use a joystick and most other things with my right.

I'm some things left, some right & others I have no preference. Writing, throwing, use of a joystick, mouse, I'm left handed, when I used to abseil as a kid, right handed, yet catching & batting a ball, I have no preference, so either.

I guess it comes down to being left handed in a right handed world, a left handed person's off hand (their right) becomes more useful to them then a right handed person's off hand (their left), as the world around them is designed for their main hand (right).

I'm left handed mostly, but some things I do right handed. usually if it is a two handed task I do it right handed, but if it's a single handed task I'm left handed. I write left handed, but eat right handed. I use a mouse and Keyboard right handed, but for throwing things, I'm left handed. I play golf right handed, but throw darts left handed. Strangely I'm left handed playing pool, lefties are weird! ;-)

I have always used joysticks right handed, so I luckily have not had to find one that is lefty.

100% leftie here and I looked around and ended up getting the Saitek ST290 Pro which does the job a treat and can be setup for left or right handed. I combine it with a Logitech G13 on right hand.

Im a lefty and I use the Thrustmaster Warthog and I have the throttle on the left and stick on my right.

So I guess i may be slightly ambidextrous, as it feels natural.

Scissors are difficult for me, and I use left handed Scissors but somethings I like as normal!

Which is not helpful... sorry..

I'm left-handed, but use a mouse right-handed, and use an X-52 pro for ED.

As someone said, we're living in a right-handed world so need to get used to it.

Besides, it's been scientifically-proven that left-handed people are better-looking :p

as a lefty in a right handed world you almost HAVE to be ambidextrous as there are so many things you can only do right handed - tin openers are the worst for me, i was so glad when Heinz started selling pull top tins of beans.

personally i use my left hand for everything i can but switch to my right hand when i'm forced too.

I'm exactly the same regarding my leftyness (is that a word? It is now!) The one thing that I'm screwed up on is items and tools specifically designed for lefties though. I just can't use them as I'm so used to using standard design equipment with my left hand. Scissors are a prime example: I can happily use normal scissors left handed but left handed scissors are beyond me now as I'm so used to applying pressure to the handles the wrong way for them.
