Hello,
By default, the launcher installs Legacy versions of the game — versions that are no longer in use but still take up around 20 GB of disk space. If I manually remove these Legacy versions using the Frontier Launcher, the Epic Games Launcher automatically re-downloads them during file verification or updates.
Inside the Epic Games Launcher, I can only choose to install or uninstall Odyssey, but there's no way to disable or remove the Legacy versions specifically.
I have already contacted Epic Games support to ask how to remove unused versions in a way that prevents them from being redownloaded. However, they responded that this issue needs to be addressed by Frontier support, since the way these versions are bundled and delivered is controlled by your team. They said that they can nothing to do with this due to how it’s configured by Frontier.
Would it be possible to offer the Legacy version as a free optional DLC instead of bundling it with the base game? That way, players could choose to disable or uninstall it if they don't need it.
Alternatively, it could be excluded from the default installation entirely and only downloaded via the Frontier Launcher when specifically selected.
Thank you for your attention.
