Hi all,
A few days ago I decided to try and make the Imperial Clipper (as it's my favorite ship in the game) out of Lego. Unfortunately, I don't have enough of it to do it IRL, so I used LDD (Lego Digital Designer, available on their website). At first, I wanted to make it a minifig-sized model, but as I'm not very experienced in building, I ended up constructing only the bridge and part of the nose so far.
I wanted to, eventually, build it virtually and then order the parts list sometime to make a proper, real-life model. Until then, the idea was to make it in LDD and make a 3D render in 3ds max.
Unfortunately, I realized quickly that I'm not yet up to the task of building a whole minifig-sized clipper so, long story short, I built a smaller version that can fit one minifig (innstead of two in the big one).
This is what came out of it:

A slightly older version of this model is on the LEGO site

Because Ldraw (which I used to convert the model to a 3ds max-readable file) didn't have some elements, I had to rework parts of the hull.
For those interested, this was done in 3ds max 2014, rendered in vRay 3.0 RT
I am thinking of doing some other Elite ships at the same scale. Maybe even do an animation sometime, if I get the time.
P.S. I know there are details missing, but I was learning the ropes. I don't think I will add much more detailing (at least for now) as it took me 2 whole days (actually nights) to make it, but who knows...
