Why do kattas and red ruffed lemurs get upset if the gender quantity ist not equal and other animals do not care, e.g. like wolves (although they do have other problems because of the 2-2 limit...but that's another story)?
Everytime one of my lemurs gets babies the whole population gets upset, when there are suddenly more female lemurs as the babies seem to be counted in as well. For example I have 3 male and 3 female adult kattas, and if 3 female baby kattas get born suddenly they are alle getting upset about the gender number inequality and fight each other over that. I thought only the adult animals are counted to the population and the additional babies just count the needed enclosure space.
