Length over girth: that old debate.

Not really, but kinda :) So I was just doing some mining in my new space cow T-9, and I'm heading towards the station. I get interdicted by a Anaconda, which spawned right behind me, when the rings are 8Ls away from the station. Annoying but let's not open that can.

Anyways, I barely escaped because I forgot (only third time ever flying this thing gimme a break) that even though the T-9 has, what, 600 tons more mass than the Anaconda, it can still be mass-locked by it. Like a duck throwing a lasso around a cow and slowing it down. I did manage to hi-wake out in time, but why is this still a thing? Are FD waiting for 3.0? I hope so :)

As a T9 pilot its super annoying but its for 'balancing'. Also you are mass locked by being close to other objects with mass which combined with your mass is more than your FSD can overcome, not just the size of the other ship.

Basically mass lock is more about how powerful your FSD is rather than the object near you.

What annoys me more is that huge ships like the Cutter and Corvette handle like smaller ships and can fly circles around my T9. I've been interdicted and literally had both ships boost past me after interdicting me while I was boosting.

Definitely irritating. I put clean drives 5 on the behemoth and I can boost to 238 now haha.

I'd like one of three things to happen- change the MLF, increase the boost speed, or increase the handling in SC. Barring those, I suppose I'll just have to get faster at selecting a hypercruise destination :)

Sounds like you are describing a Cutter ;)
