Crew Announcement - Press Release
As per Michael's request, please see the following draft press release:
Les Couches Spatiales Tours is the first luxury travel company to exploit the much maligned Orca. Famed for being the ship that could always be beaten into second place for any role, LCS chose the Orca for her elegant looks and excellent all around viewing positions. "Our passengers pay top prices and they expect first class facilities" commented LCS's CEO CMDR Donkey Hote.
LCS Tours is jointly owned and crewed by 6 veterans of the 3302 Distant Worlds Expedition. "Following the DWE, we were looking for a new venture, and to share our love of exploration and discovery with those not able to take the Conn personally", said CMDR John Shibregro, who earned the nickname 'Smooth' after his famous smooth landings. "The Orca was the obvious choice, and with some excellent work from Engineer Felicity Farseer, we have been able to produce ships able to out run all but the most persistent pirates". We also have tactical support from CMDR Gertymoon in his Asp, 'The White Star'.
The LCS Fleet is currently taking passengers on their maiden voyage as part of the Crab Nebula Expedition. "Our philosophy is to provide our passengers with a variety of experiences. So far on the CNE we have thrilled them with the sights of Barnard's Ring, The Witchhead Nebula, The Running Man Nebula and treated them to the spectacle of Beteleguese. They have also experienced the thrill of a fleet canyon flight where the Orcas were put through their surface speed paces. We're grateful that health and safety concerns are covered by the hefty insurance our passengers are able to afford", commented CMDR 'Booster' Woods. "Still to come we have the rest of the fantastic sights on the expedition as well as one or two Formation Flying events". The LCS pilots took part in the first multi ship formation fly past at Darwin's Legacy at Beagle Point. A small but historic flight on the 2nd April 3302, just days before the larger DWE Fleet Fly Past.
LCS have been thrilled by the latest announcements of organised passenger services throughout inhabited space and Saud Kruger's announcement of two new ships, The Beluga and The Dolphin. "We welcome new competition to the market in the knowledge that we are already setting the bar pretty high in terms of the luxury tourist market", said CMDR NCC71201, "and we just can't wait to find out the specs of these two new designs - we are sure our passengers will love them too".
