Less haters

There seems to be a lot less hating in the last couple of days, seems the balancing and fixes in the last update and hot fixes have started to sort things out.

As an explorer i know i am happy, the 1000 ly routing has made a heap of difference.

I also think the shield cell balance and the heat management has made the difference in balancing out ship combat. I think the shield cells favour bulky ships with big power plants giving them a chance of evading pirates but a well balanced fighter still gives a high threat but can't use overpowered missile weapons or UN-heated lasers to vaporize ships on a whim.

What has everyone else thought?

There are alot of bugs plaguing the game, and people have a right to be mad, especially when their anaconda blows up after they .... deploy landing gear.

There was alot of issues with 1.1. also, and people have the right to complain when a game doesnt work as intended.

Absolutely there with you man wasn't suggesting otherwise, just saying the neg posts have been dwindling so they must be doing something right.

I've enjoyed 1.1 so far.

The game (pre or post 1.1) is not without it's flaws though. Some of the changes are good yes, but the gameplay as a whole is still severely lacking. At least flying feels really nice, especially with voice attack. I just need to try a stick.

1.1 killed much of the fun for me, which is odd, as I disagree with only 2 changes made, the SCB delay, and the Pirate Spawning nerf. All other changes to the SCB I like, but that delay makes them near useless on anything Cobra sized or smaller. I see low shields, I pop a cell, but my shield drops before the cell activates (pretty sure the cell counts as used too, despite it not functioning). Limiting them to 1 module per ship seems a more logical fix to me.

As for the pirate spawning fix, that I just don't understand. What was the problem? Bounty Hunting was not hugely lucrative in the first place, why did it need a nerf?

Yip still flaws but heading in the right direction at least. Still needs content but I'm sure the thargoids coming .

I honestly remember when elite 2 and 3 came out, if they were released today FD would have been hounded out of the solar system for the bugs. Lol just shows you how times have changed.

[tin foil hat on]

FD wants everyone either trading or playing community goals! Preferably both.

I hear you about the bounty hunting thing, however i wonder of they were trying to balance spawning pirates for the miners around RES points. I tried mining for a while and found it ok but was getting eagles and vipers(npcs) appearing about every 2 minutes trying to take my cargo, ended up fighting more than mining even when i flew right into the rings miles away from the spawn point.

True that, repped.

It does seem thing have calmed down after 1.1 and especially after 1.102 dropped. I hoping that people are just starting to feel they're being listened too, it makes a big difference.

Or everyone's left the game in disgust - but I don't think that's happening in large numbers. I personally looking forward to more game being added, especially when missions finally get overhauled, you can never have too much variety in game.

I quite like ED in the current state, but it’s a ways off being truly great. But I’m happy to wait for greatness.

A big thank you to all the staff at Frontier, keep up the good work.

Ah, I see. Was it really that bad for miners? I mined a little when I first started, at a 'roid cluster, and never once got more than a scan from the feds.

Most of the issues are down to a lack of CRM but the game still isn't there enough to sell it to friends knowing they'll not regret buying it.

I honestly don't know i only tried mining for a couple of hours but thats what my experience was. However i have read loads of posts about how good RES points were good for spawning wanted NPC's. I just put out the thought as a possible reason to the nerfing of wanted at the RES points.
