:>

Also, hi, got the beta, very impressed although it isn't with my graphics card -.-

(To mods, apologies, assumed forum would thumbnail, it appears it didn't, lol)

If anyone wants to see the original (massive) image, it is at:

For added hilarity, you can see me getting a criminal record for trying to dock the old fashioned way at:

I owned the Amiga 500+... had elite on that, so many memories, but my first encounter was in school on the BBC. My god I'm old.

Heh

I have far more old machines than that, but space constraints in my flat mean I can have only four max set up at any one time.

The version I played most at school in the 1980s was the BBC release but at home I had a Spectrum.

Spent pretty much an entire summer playing it once and only got to Deadly -.-, never managed Elite and I don't think the new one has that rating system so I suppose I never will now.

Very happy to see this new one is an MMO though, always thought Elite would be an excellent MMO game. (didn't think I'd have to wait THIRTY YEARS but never mind -.o, it's here now, lol)

Id anyone is wondering why it says good/evil on the spectrum/commodore monitors, there was some rivalry in the 1980's and I started with the ZX81 (see http://kupo.be/pics/tach7.jpg for me in 1982) and moved onto the Spectrum later so the stickers reflect the 'side' I was on back then.

Anyone with a C128D has my respect.

My old one is still in my mums loft. I remember being amazed that you could get an 80 character screen.

And emulate a C64 too so I could play Elite :D

That Commodore 128 looks familiar. I gave mine to my sister when I got a PC. Funny to think that the 128 stood for a whopping 128 kB.

I started Elite on the 128 and crashed so many times trying to dock that I thought a docking computer was almost mandatory. Then I got so tired waiting for the docking computer that I just learned to do it myself.
