Let me buy the Cobra MK IV please.

Why not right? Are the early backers going to feel cheated after all this time?
It was not just the backers, it was a reward to existing CMDRs for buying into Horizon before a certain date.

The Cobra Mk IV is not that big a deal overall - I think there would be little objection to it being unlocked for players who missed the opportunity via some form of real-world additional fee (i.e. via a mini-expansion priced at say 10 UKP or local equivalent) - they would still have to buy it in-game like the rest of us had to though.

its one of the most useless shups in the game. why would you want it?

maybe they'll offer it again to players who buy the 2020 update early and at full price so they can say "why???"

I am quite convinced that those who do not have access to the Cobra Mk-IV only want to be able to buy one so they can join in the other Cobra Mk-IV thread about how bad a ship it is and how they never fly it any more... :) ;) :D

Spec wise, it is very similar to the keelback, just don't fit a fighter hanger and ignore that you're short one utility point

I actually use mine quite regularly as I am checking how thick the dust is since I last took her out, it's up to 2.9cm so far...

Cobra Mk IV owner here...

Depends on what you expect from it - it is far from being the most useless ship in the game though - I think the Hauler might more rightly deserve that dubious accolade.

fair enough...but not exactly a "must have" players line up for.

haluer makes a great early-game rescue taxi.

True - but if people really do want one and missed the unlock opportunity I see nothing wrong with FD offering to unlock it for newer players for a real-world fee. Doubt they will though.

Depending on your gameplay choices, the Cobra Mk IV arguably makes perhaps the best multi-role vessel in it's price range (a baby Python IMO).

the Python isn't really a good noob ship. I remember the first time I got one I was so disappointed. Couldn't understand why everyone was so crazy about it. Is the cobra mk4 the same?

(have 3 Pythons now)

I have at least one of every ship... the only one I currently have more than one of is a T6.

Piloting wise... the Python is an excellent bridging ship for learning how to properly pilot larger craft (more forgiving than the larger craft and more capable than most of the smaller craft).

Capability wise... the Cobra Mk IV, Python, and Anaconda are roughly speaking progressive multi-role equivalents (in the stated order of progression). It is at least in part related to the number of optional slots.
