So, I had an idea to help expand the mission variety and complexity in game without taxing the developers too much. The idea is for the developers to release a "mission maker" program/app for the community to create mission palettes.
The app should allow a user to create an objective, a mission process and possible divergent paths, they would also be able to write the non-procedural part of the text and possible reward multipliers based on decisions made.
This will allow the community to create interesting missions with engaging gameplay as well as allow the developers to get a very accurate idea of what sort of gameplay the community would like to experience.
I think it would be easiest if the prospective missions could be posted on the FDev website for voting and the most upvoted go the developers for review, this I think would streamline the process.
I also believe it would be relatively (this is a mostly inexperienced assumption) easy to have missions made in the app and very easy to place into the game, allowing for the a large amount of content to be provided for the game while not taking time away from the developers and thus taking time away from the core systems that need to be developed for the game.
Lastly, I think that with the announcement of odyssey, this would be a fantastic time to release an app like this. This might help develop some more content and missions that might be applicable given the new parameters (space legs) of the game.
I'm aware that something like this will most likely be a large task and I'm sure that the developers have their hands full, especially given the current environment, however as a tool going forwards something akin to this could do a lot to help bridge the gap between the community and the development of the game.
