Let us bind multiple controls to the same key!

By the way. I myself use multiple inputs on the same button to make modifiers have a function of their own.

Holding roll left and roll right for example turns off flight assist and toggles the yaw axis to roll.
And my head look toggle switches my right stick from lateral thrusters to absolute head look as well as toggling every other button on the controller.

It's spiffy.

And the only way to play this to full potential on a Gamecube controller.

They should simply autofire if the target is unscanned and within range and arc...

The exception would be the discovery ones and these should just be disabled in normal flight so you don't honk constantly while using that firegroup for it's assigned weapons.


I agree with this - they really should be passive scanners like the surface scanner. I don't see why it needs to take up a slot in a fire group. We already get auto scans as to whether a ship is clean or not, why doesn't the kws act like a dss?

They're not modifiers in the common sense, but EDs input system is really one of the best I've ever seen, gotta give em that.

I got 4 modifier keys on my PS3 pad xD, L2 is for swapping yaw/roll primarely but it also changes what the D-pad does and a few others, triangle, circle and x are the other 3, circle is for combat related things like silent running, swapping weapon groups, highest threat target, FA toggle and so on with the others.
With out these combinations it'd be pretty impossible to play this with the gamepad alone.

Anyways Yinyin, the override I was mentioning would need to be conditionally so that I do not open the role panel while flying but only when landed where toggling the landing gear does not do anything because it's for obvious reasons locked.
So unless you can tell me how to edit that into the config would it not help much :x

It's not a huge issue but it'd be nice to have anyways.

Didn't see your request, was answering the thread in general.

That's more of an option you want there and not that much related to configurable inputs.
(I suppose it's not like this because ship launched fighters as well as future roles on a multi crew ship will be switched via the same panel - it won't only be used with deployed landing gear)

Ah yeah damn, forgot about those things. I was only thinking of getting into the SRV : /

I originally had triangle as menu modifier, so tri + dpad would switch to the side panels, but the top one was never useful for me and the radar zoom was total blegh so I overrode these with scoop and landing gear.
But eventually I got sick, literally, of that zoom jerking from just holding that menu modifier down on it's own so I seperately bound the sidepanels to get rid of that. Worked fine but now that there's a use for the bottom panel I hoped I could get that to work as mentioned while being landed but yeah, forgot about things aside getting into the SRV :x so there goes that idea.

Gotta find another free combo then.


Edit: actually, my idea was to make it open the role panel if the landing gear would not react (as in being landed), now I was wondering, do ship launched fighters even have a landing gear? Because if not the idea would still hold up, if they do, ah screw it : /

I want to be able to bind the "back" button on my Logitech game-pad again... It opened up a whole extra "set" of bindings when I used to be able to use it.
 
NO. However, you can already assign in same FireGroup items that do not work between SC & Normal Space:
ADS / Interdictor / KWS - you can have along with Beams no problems.
MY Chaff is Scroll Button and so is already a 3rd Button
I prefer all others to be keyboard buttons even though I could use Mouse (7 buttons) to SCB, HS, SR, Cargo, ECM (nobody uses)
