Let us import our own music!

If it would be at all possible, I think it would be awesome if we could select mp3 files from our computer that we can play in the game through a ship playlist or stereo. Nothing is stopping us from simply alt tabbing to desktop and doing this but I just think it would be a nifty feature. We could all have our own AWESOME MIX.

While it's no problem to run the media player of your choice in the background, a ship-internal media player would be nice to have. Especially if you have a barebone keyboard with no media keys, it's always necessary to alt-tab out of the game to switch songs/playlists, which can be quite annyoing.

And, having a "now playing" as an optional in-ship-display would be rad. :D

Big "Yes Please!" for this one.

Not sure how feasible it would be but that's the only thing I am missing at the moment, leaning over to start Ace of Spades when I successfully interdict a Bounty Target would be quite pleasing to say the least.

I currently have the game running in borderless window mode. Chrome is open on one tab playing back my Google Music profile and on a second tab on 'Thrudd's Elite Dangerous Tools'. Works a treat.

On the media players can't you edit play button for game user. Once you log off the media player it back to the normal button.

there may be legal issues with copyright music to make this not happen. i don't think it's super important either.

but i would like to suggest to use foobar2000. you can define global hotkeys and use all the player's functions from ingame. so, no alt+tab for changing volume or tracks.

I can't see this being a thing. Maybe make some playlists before starting the game. Though I can see this being handy if you wanted to change the tempo of a song for docking, exploration, battle etc and you could select what songs you wanted for each event. I don't think there are legal issues as Frontier wouldn't be providing the musical content. If you have purchased a song then you are licenced to play that song in a non-public area.

I also started thinking about using Roccat's Power Grid. It has an Media Player tab. But yes, ingame player would be great.
