Hi,

I believe it is fair to say we have all been quite vociferous in berating the developers for the glitches in 2.1 and seemingly being obstinate with regard to our wishes for the direction of the game. I have to put my hand up and say I've personally been rather negative about certain aspects of 2.1, and spearheaded certain grievance discussions.

I am glad to say that with the recent update from Zac Antonaci [ <-- Click ] it would appear that our grievances have been heard and measures have been taken to ameliorate the dissatisfaction many felt as a result of the updates unintended consequences. To recap from the update, NPC's are getting stripped of most engineer upgrades, AI is getting a balance pass, new forums are being created for tracking the glitches with overly aggressive AI and malfunctioning weapons such as rapid fire rail guns etc... So now people can go to theBugged weapons the NPC aggro threads and start giving them feedback there, and thus help the devs fix the stuff we don't like.

And just in case people find the stripped of Engineered module but still sharp AI NPC's too much, bi weave shields are back on the outfitting menu :) [edited to add this note about biweaves]

[damn it I wanted a couple of those rapid fire railguns for my ships :-( ]

And finally and most importantly in my opinion, they are going to revisit the RNG element to the engineers upgrade results in 2.1.1; Hooray!

So all in all thats a lot of stuff they are giving us, and since the've listened to us all ing about the results of all their hard work; I think its only fair we say thank you for giving us what we have made it pretty clear we wanted. To this end I've put up a simple one option poll above to "vote" will be to say thanks so please chime in if you appreciate their recent efforts.

I am not putting up any negative options in the poll as I feel that there has already been more than enough negativity in the forum about the issues addressed above, and I don't want to add any more trolling to this topic.

I think overall the update has been amazing, I love the new sounds and sights as well as the huge weapons. With some adjustments to firmware dropping the actual engineer feature looks like it will be amazing fun too.
For now I think the best thing to do is take the engineer part a bit slowly until that gets adjusted, but progress can still be made while I play the game as normal.

Thanks frontier its a hell of an update.

I've played more since 2.1 release than i have since 2.0 came out, because it's felt like there's a reason to, so i'm pretty happy with it

Currently, 2.1 satisfying me up to 95%.

5% concern the Engineer module upgrade and RNG.

To me, module upgrade should be based on a simulation. Keeping the RNG, but as it work on a simulation, there is no material lost.... material so hardly collected.

The ones unhappy are the band "Multicannons 'n' Roses", who were just writing a song that will now become meaningless...

Welcome to the bubble
It gets worse here everyday
Ya learn ta live like an animal
In the bubble where we play
If you got a hunger for what you see
You'll take it eventually
You can have anything you want
But you better not take it from me

(...)

You know where you are
You're in the bubble baby
You're gonna die...

Seriously though, one thing I can't fault FD on is the communication with the player base - they do listen, so props for that :)

You never know that song may be resurrected when they release the inevitable "very best of" tesseract ;)

And since we have more votes than replies, I'd like to say thanks to all the other CMDR's who have voted their thanks without commenting in the thread.

not enough options on the poll and it is very biased. It does not allow for those of us wishing to express concern over very long standing issues such as bugged missions for example, and only gives us the option to say "thanks, everything's going great."

Could not vote.

I hope to see NPCs get a limited amount of engineered equipment, once the reach deadly/elite.
Good job on the fast response to the feedback FD.
