Lets guess... 3D Food Printers, Food Cartridges and recipies available...

Cartridges for 'chefs' (cheap 3D food printers). These dehydrated components are reconstituted into a variety of shapes using a 3D printing technique. Components are mixed with water and flavourings as they are printed, according to the desired food item template for colour, texture and taste. "Burgers" and "Hotdogs" are common standard template choices in most chefs.

As far as I understood it us pilots tend to use those as well as they are easily stored, don't take up a lot of space and last forever, which is especially useful for those of us going on an extended exploration trip.

I do doubt though that we'd only want to eat burgers and hotdogs for weeks or even months without end, so it could be nice to have variety... but I also assume that those printers won't be able to produce extremely advanced recipies. So I wonder if we should try to figure out what else might be available?

I'll start with some other basics:

• pizza
• schnitzel
• french fries
• basic vegetables (potatoes, brussels sprout, red cabbage, etc.)

For those in the Northern Hemisphere that would be Marmite on toast... Yummy!
(My Australian friend brought me a jar of vegemite when she came over for my 50th birthday party, really quite nice stuff!)

Add peanut butter and you're close. "Discovered" it one very hungover morning at St Leonards station in Sydney. Although Marmite is better

Peanut butter is meant to be slowly savored off of a large spoon, scooped straight from the jar with as much as you can fit on there. Like an ice cream cone, minus the boring cone.
