Hello everyone! I am pretty new here but wanted to say hello and create my first post about one area of the game that has been on my mind a lot - shops.
I would like to share two tips I have discovered about shops and then ask if anyone else has tips or tweaks that would help me in career mode (which I love).
So here is my tip #1 -
One of the first things I do in any park or scenario is go into the shops and edit their inventory. In case you have ever checked all food/drink shops have additional options for each item sold. You can select the extras added as well as the quantity of each extra "a little, some, a lot". This is a bit of a vague and confusing option because you aren't really given information about how much those extras cost, if anything, and what impact they have on guest satisfaction.
After a decent amount of testing I have found a formula I'm pretty happy with. First off, I always select ALL of the extras for anything, I don't try to customize. Usually I will try to have one item with "a little" one with "some" and one with "a lot" extras. I increase the prices for "a little" by $1, "some" by $2 and "a lot" by $3. So far I have found this to be a pretty good formula with most of my shops getting a lot of customers and making a lot of money. If anyone else has tweaked those numbers different I would like to know.
tip #2 -
For those that play the scenarios I have found that one of the most important things to do is to close every shop and fire nearly all of the vendors when you start. Maps like the one that takes place in the bad neighborhood start with like 20 shops and so many vendors. I fire everyone. These shops are too numerous to make money. I see that they did this on a huge number of scenarios in the game including Oak Park and once I close the shops I make a lot of money.
