Let's talk about sound

Rogers Export monitors are my choice, Elite sounds incredible. All pass through a good old Cambridge P110 amp. Yes it's all very old school but what else did you expect? :D

Hyper-X Cloud 2 gaming headphones here with 7.1 virtual surround. I find them very comforable, and the sound quality is good. Prior to this I used a decent pair of Bose headphones, but I find it much better to have a separate set for being out and about (Bose) than for gaming (Hyper-X). I've also got a Creativ surround sound system for my TV and PS4, which I plan to migrate to my desktop when I upgrade to a bigger system.

Had them all, from good stereo headphones(+mic) , to separate headphones+mic, to 5.1 headphones, to 5.1 EGG surround speaker set up,and many more.

Of all of those the one I have stuck with the most, and many years, is a fantastic BOSE stereo setup . I can't praise the sound on these things enough.

p.s. I am talking gaming, not music(though with decent track quality it does sound good)

Do you remember model name? My surround speakers are set up for TV, so when gaming I am off centre quite a bit, something like this might be a good idea.

Bit of a mish mash of systems, home made affairs with two separate thousand watt amplifiers powering a pair of alpine subwoofers that one normally finds in the boot of a car. A bose stack system takes care of the surround sound with full 7.1 surround speakers...and the home made jobbies which make ones chair vibrate like a...vibrating thing. The sub from that one was busted hence taking the car subs that were lying around the shed...I used be heavily into ICE systems in cars, so I got loads of old amps and subs and speakers lying around and one knows how to wire them all up...great sound on a shoestring budget that can be felt and heard at a hundred paces. Sound is very important to my gaming and elite has some the best Ive ever come across.

Headphones are turtle beach xo ones simply cos they cheap 80 quid jobs which are comfy and do what they supposed to do. Sound quality isnt brilliant through the cans, but the mic is easy to use and is good quality fer something so cheap sub tonne ^

Bought an Asus Xonar DSX recently. Completely astounded me the first time I played music through it. Complete day/night difference compared to the onboard audio. As an analogy to graphics - seemed like I was content to play with Intel HD graphics, and the Asus Xonar was the new GTX 1080 I just bought.

And I'm no audiophile. Never even considered getting a discrete sound board if I weren't trying to solve another hardware problem cheaply :D

Heat is a major factor in Darwin so in the mid priced cans range, I've gone with these ATs

Three years of wear and the cushions are still comfortable and not frayed.
Can't remember the model number. Not my "work" cans, but comfy and plenty of sticking spots for the ModMic.

That'll be a set of Audio Technica ATH-AD700's. I have the same, I like, and bass is closer to "natural". Most people like too much bass.

I also got a set of Trinity Vyrus 2's shipped from the UK. Best 79GBP I've spent on ear phones, and I've owned many.

Don't get me started on my surround set up...
