Let's talk tattoos.

As a tattoo flash designer and Elite fanboy, I am both excited and slightly disappointed with the previews of tattoo options in the upcoming updates. It's not anything to do with Frontier's art department, just a lack of variety and options as a whole. I'm wondering if they can't open up some type of community art uploader where we can all submit our own designs and if a design gets a substantial amount of votes it can be put into the game! (With hopefully some sort of fair kickback for the artist.) I would absolutely love to devote more of my time to creating more Elite art, but it's difficult to pull myself away from other projects that contribute to my income.

I see my own tattoos as the high tide marks left by youthful 'research' into mysticism, rationality and the occult.
AKA witchy girls, hard drugs and some of the most dire punk rock you ever avoided.

Thing about tattoos is they're going to be limited to the Cmdr avatar's face. I think that's why we have tribal type designs (which I think look pretty hard-core actually). Trouble with player uploaded content (as ever) is Frontier end up being the official publisher when it's included in the game, so it needs their moderation from that point of view.

Although this scheme is more about internet traffic, maybe you could work out a way maybe with FD, to put your designs on merchandise, with the official store merchanise designer? https://www.frontierstore.net/become-an-affiliate/

Nice artwork. I wouldn't get a tattoo from a game ( no matter how good ). I don't want to explain to my grandkids about a game I played on an actual monitor 40 years ago. The ink I do have I've never regretted.

Ever think about offering those on T-shirts ? I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I love the one with the Eagle.

I see what you're saying! I do hope they have more revealing areas in the future though- kinda like how Mass Effect has like an in-combat outfit and a space legs outfit.

Thank you for the ideas and nice comnments though, everybody! I'll see if theres some way I can send Frontier the vectorized designs to perhaps include these in the merch creator! o7
