Letter Boxes on Outposts?

Just loving the little details I keep spotting! Noticed this for the first time at an outpost in the middle of nowhere:
Does anyone know what these are for?
Had a closer nosey with my lights on to have a look inside:
Currently they're just for show - you can't fly into them, unfortunately... They're blocked by invisible walls.

Probably where their 'station security' type craft live, or the maintenance vehicles. It's more for show than anything else.
Have you run across the station with the palm trees inside yet? That was pretty slick to see.
Yeah seen these also and I think they are labelled as security craft only or something similar.
