Level 2 / Level 3 Detailed scans

I believe

Level 1 - system honk

Level 2 - scan planet with basic inbuilt ship scan

Level 3 - DSS scan

Could be wrong though :)

Nah that sounds right, judging by my own stats and the fact Ive had a DSS in most of my ships since the first days of PS4 launch.

Then its buggy again - just like time played etc...

I just dropped in several millions of exploration data last night and according to my console panel i only have 6 Level 2 detailed scans and 80 Level 30 - I've DSS'ed several hundreds i can tell you for sure and honked WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more than that.

But I note:

Level 2 - scan with basic in-built ship scan

Level 3 - DSS scan

So if i understand correctly - if you do not have a detailed surface scanner you will only get a level 2 scan, but if you have a DSS you get the more advanced level 3 scan which includes materials listed for landable planets right?

Yes, that's correct. willowfan is spot on. :)

This is correct, but in your ship's info panel, the number under level 3 scan is wrongly shown as the level 1 (honk) number, which is why it's so high. FD know about it.

Not sure. I have visited 7815 systems of which I'm pretty sure I honked at least 95%, but the number of level 3 scans shows up as 1826 which I think is accurate to the number of DSS scans I did.

Its updated again since last time - its now around 900 scans which is more accurate - it looks like the UI panels on PS4 suffer from major laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag.

Except it still says I've only played for 9 hours and 59 minutes - which is of course bunkum.
