LFT 880 Baker Station Announcer made me laugh out loud!

I usually hardly listen to what announcers are on about in the different stations. Howerver, this morning i suddenly noticed the announcer while being docked on Baker Platform in LFT 880.

The last time I heard this bad pronunciation was when I heard the Dutch prime minister give a speech in English on TV! I mean, what he says is all correct and nicely scripted, but it's just so damn funny to hear it made me laugh out loud!

I realy LOVE this voice! I think its the hidden love the germans share for peoples from the netherlands.

Heard one recently too with a very distinct cheesy Russian accent. That one made me laugh, but the Dutch accent took the cake!

I also discovered it is random because I only heard the Dutch accent twice in the same station. Unfortunately I haven't heard it in quite some time.

I think it's great FD takes these little things into consideration. It gives this game so much more depth.

I had a South African sounding male voice today in Aulin. That's usually a woman. Must've changed shifts.

Also saw Aulin for the first time in a total eclipse when it was completely behind Nirvana so no light from Aulin was hitting it. It was quite difficult to actually see in the Rift with nothing but the red lights on it.

People always talk about how great the game sounds and usually mean how great the sounds are that the ships make. But most tend to forget how incredible the inside of a station sounds.

There is already so much immersion and great stuff in this game. I cannot wait for more things to come!

Considering the more than one millenium of cultural change, I don't think we should complain about speaker accents :D

I think there's going to be a lot more starport voices with the next bubble expansion, since there are both alliance systems, as well as an Independent
Feudal one (Ori).

I especially wonder what the voices in the Feudal station are going to be like

I am enjoying the enormous variety regarding sounds and voices a lot. Being Dutch, I immediately recognised that specific station announcer to be Dutch as well. It did take a while, but I've finally managed to grow fond of the guy's lines now.

I was wondering who might be doing the voices for the various station announcements. I can't remember that there were related Kickstarter backer rewards, so I guess they are Frontier people? Programmers, artists and other people from the Elite: Dangerous team, perhaps?

In any case, David Braben should definitely have a shot at servicing a station as well. That would be neat. :)

I enjoyed it from the start. I thought it just sounded so damn funny.

Now Braben doing a station voice would indeed be excellent! I second that motion! :D
