Newcomer / Intro LHS 2157 A1 & A2 Collision?

Just made a delivery in this system. Planets A1 & A2 seemed unnaturally close to each other. I saw that a moon collision recently was a big deal in ED so I'm throwing this out there. Looked at it in orrery mode on the system map but only a1 seemed to show.

Am now ready to hear about how this post is pure noob gold and I'm an idiot. Better to be laughed at than let a collision go unnoticed?

Moon collisions are galactic events of epic proportions, well worth a visit for any commander. Let us hope the graphic and physics involved will be refined by fdev to provide that absolutely world cataclysmic experience near the surface and out in orbit.

Just confirmed my idiot status. Got out and flew around them. Now I can see they share a tight orbit. When I was approaching the first time I didn't see an orbit line or probably read it wrong.

False alarm.

Stellar Body Collisions

I have pulled together a list of bodies that can potentially have collisions. Most of these systems need to be rescanned so that we can get the meanAnomaly from the journal and this will allow us to calculate the date, time and duration of the collisions. I'll be periodically updating the list...

If you use Elite Observatory it will notify if there is going to be a collison and it will give you the dates as well
