Licensed Content

I'm not a fan of the microtransaction DLC, but I have to admit the Licensed Content is really interesting. I didn't think Munsters was even on anybodys radar lol, did anybody see the 1 episode reboot that came out a few years ago? It was really good I wish it had more than one episode! but I always like the Addams Family better. Is it good they focused on cars? thats a popular item people have been making, I just wish they did a construction set :]

I was not a fan of Licensed Content in RCT2 or RCT3 (it seemed out of place) but this is definitely a sign that Planet Coaster has some crazy potential. How does everybody else feel about the Licensed Content? Do you like that these objects have a specific non-generalized theme? Do you want to see more Licensed Content?? Personally, I don't want to see a bunch of TV shows and Movies showing up, but I would like to see some actual cartoon characters as Entertainers :loonybloons:

Heres a great video by Jonny5alive covering the DLC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teOBpwv3Pp4
The coolest part IMO is the go-karts... also theres a single transparent window? [woah]

Yes to the cartoon character idea! Was all excited to incorporate the actual Munsters and bits of their house into my park and then left scratching my head as to why the went with Munster cars instead of the actual Munsters. Guess I can eventually buy the downloadable content for scrap parts but I feel the opportunity is squandered thus far.[blah]

i am a fan of the concept.

* easier to create a real-world park (for those who want to)
* more pieces (BUT then harder to share)
* likely some/most DLCs will have a "tease" piece (like see-through windows) which add significant value
* brings in more funds, so Frontier will keep developing the game
* keep the community hyped and active, meaning more supporting videos and content to help players
* there will no doubt be packs and bundles down the line, so even if you cannot pay immediately, after 6 months there will surely be very cheap ways to catch up

Provided that Frontier keep developing the PlanCo universe free characters and content. So that it will always be possible for "vanilla" PlanCo parks to be built.

I bought all these straight away to help support Frontier and finally a see through window :) however not creating anything atm as at a low ebb regarding the lacking management aspects. So Frontier if you are reading put Parkitect to shame if you can?

I'm all in favor of using Licensed Content and microtransaction DLC aren't really a concern for me at the moment. I've played CSGO, TF2, Overwatch, Path of Exile, these games all have microtransactions, but they are done right in terms of not fracturing their communities. If Frontier can handle this right and not divide the community I have no issues with them. For me, it all comes down to the implementation. With Planet Coaster, they're going to need to take their time and really think this through.

I like the licensed content, but the stuff from each of the 3 packes could be more. When you have the license, how about some music/soundtrack, some Animatronic's, more typical buildings from "Back to the Future" for example, from the 3 movies, for fast placement.

But generally, it is great, hope there will be more soon, but please more stuff in the DLC.

yeah you bring up a good point as well. I will be more than willing to pay, but it has to be quality stuff.

A few more licensed content would be great, too much would make it lose it's "magic"

There is so much more viable for DLC.

  • Disco theme
( 70's - early 80's with maybe a animatronics with some Saturday Night Fever moves )

  • Prehistoric theme
( with cavemen and brontosaurus steaks :) )

  • Science theme ( Huge DNA statue, ground telescope with some pieces to build observatory )

I' m a fan of the concept and I love Universal! BTTF is one of my alltime favourite movie series!

I will buy the DLC's because I want to support the game and Frontier.

I hope they further develop these themes...e.g. with:

Time machine or KITT tracked ride... ( alternative to luna cars
BTTF3 train ride ...
Entertainers... Doc Brown, Marty, Michael Knight, Monsters, etc... Imagine a meet and greet functionality...
More scenery, original music... etc... there is so much potential...
Maybe future DLC with universal logo... or even better with scenery from universal parks...ok...now I start fantasizing too much... :)
And maybe from other famous amusement parks... ok stop now. :)

What do you think?

Generic themes such as these should be free, along with e Licenced stuff being paid DLC. A nice BTTF Themed Go-Kart Ride, using exsiting scenary is possible. That's what the DLC is catered for. I am all for that.

I like the licensed content really and have bought all DLC's. It's great for those, who want build rides based on that themes because you can use the original signs instead of to create your own ones with bilnoards or shapes.

Personally I like the possiblities to use all the new single parts for my other creations. Especially the Munsters Pack has a lot of great new content.

And when did you ever have the opportunity to do tune up a DeLorean DMC-12 with K.I.T.T.-equipment? In PC you can do that now.
