Discussion Licensing & IP Question for 3rd Party Apps

Greetings Commanders,

Apologies if this question has been asked and answered before, but I couldn't find anything relevant when searching the forum.

I have been working on a free Android application that offers several features meant to aid Commanders while exploring the Elite: Dangerous universe. The application was published to Beta under the name "Elite: Dangerous Companion (Unofficial)" and was gaining a fairly large user-base before being abruptly suspended for violating Google's Impersonation guidelines.

In order to avoid any further issues when republishing the application I was advised to provide Google with advanced notice of publishing and documented permission to use content created by Frontier. I have already filled out the "ED 3rd Party Devs Info/Contact Submission Form" but not sure if it is still active and valid, or if I should be looking elsewhere for this request.

This may be important for any other developers out there publishing applications to Google or Apple's app distribution platforms. If you have not done so already, you may want to inquire about this information as well or you risk having your application suspended.

Thank you in advance for any and all assistance in this matter.

Regards,
Commander Stpatrck

Thanks for the quick response, Gully_Foyle.

I'll contact Fontier directly for more information.

Out of curiosity, has anyone else had any problems like this? I notice there are several other Elite Dangerous apps out there for Android and iOS. Did anyone else have to provide documented permission? How has Frontier responded to these types of requests?
