I have been playing Elite Dangerous for a few months now and over all i love it.. I was one of them oldies who actually played the original Elite on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum lol.

I have to say that over all this game really rocks.. Love the depth and the effort that the Devs have put into it.

I have had my ups and downs while playing and my biggest down being the loss of 2 X 72 mill plus clippers in 2 days and on the second occasion not enough funds to cover the insurance lol. Now that was painful, starting from scratch in a sidewinder again with barely 500 k in the bank.
Lucky for me i had a good combat rank and less then a month later i have a clipper again that is fairly well outfitted and also a Vulture, Diamondback Scout, Viper, Cobra and Sidewider.. So i think i am doing OK after my disaster

The new Power Play Mod is also very cool and im loving the challenge of making sure my Pledge(ed) keeps trucking forward.

So really i guess this post is a little about me and my short-commings as a commander and also a lot about a very deep and enjoyable gaming experience that i am happy to be a part of.

Big thank you to the boys in the coding chairs here and looking forward to seeing more depth and pain in the future.

A positive thread.....perhaps we should have it framed.
I too played on the old speccy and am enjoying this one immensely, still lots to do after I started on launch date. Like you I have had disasters, and like you picked myself up, dusted down and carried on a little bit wiser.
Enjoying power play, I know a lot of people are complaining about credits, but if you plan it you can trade whilst still doing power play.

I must admit i use the time between getting pledge cargo to do combat missions.. Its amazing how many pirates want my pledge cargo only to get my lasers and cannons instead. Having a blast so far and in more then one way Fly safe out there.. PS if you cant fly safe then go down in a blaze of glory..
