Life Outside the Bubble: Player Colony Initiative

I think that a station situated halfway between the bubble and Sag A* would be great. It'd give deep space explorers a waystation between the bubble and the deeper areas. Hell, even half a dozen stations spread out across the galaxy would be cool. There could be one near Sag A*, one near Beagle Point, and two other ones, to the east and west of Sag A* near the rim.
It would certainly remove some of the danger from exploring. Having a station near some of the popular end goals would mean that you could repair and reload your heat sinks/afmus before making the return trip, along with selling off the exploration data you'd accumulated, just in case you screw up on the way home and crash into a star.

I can imagine a faction having a scientific research base on the edge of the Abyss and probably at the cardinal points of the galaxy too.
Or maybe at the closest ELW so they can grow food there rather than rely on hydroponics.
Couple of T9s and an Orca for the engineers/crew and the needs could change. Those platforms look pretty modular.

I have a nice little elw staked out for retirement so I want the day we can land on elw and build a small outpost. I have a beach side hut in mind where I can sit and drink G&T's while hopefully if I'm lucky grand kids can play on the sand during the school holidays. So I'm well up for something like that as a CG. Armholeeio's retreat, bring timber, meat (BBQ's will be epic) and gin! Get to tier 10 and a massive beach party occurs

I agree that establishing a drinking colony should be our first priority.
