light improvements / effects

Hello Frontier,

I hope to see improvements and additions for the current lights that we have.

- Make more lights recolourable and make more lights triggable. For example those in DLC packs like the new wall lamps in spooky pack (we can't trigger those) and even the bigger golden car light on the side from the Munsters or head light from K.I.T.T. (great for sci-fi use) would be nice to be recolourable.

- A new option to enable some light sequences in which you can choose for example:
- Rainbow effect (slow, medium, fast) so the light changes from color to color​
- Strobe (slow, medium, fast)​
- Pulsating (slow, medium, fast). Light fades in and out.​
- Flickering light sequences (for example for spooky or fire effects like they do in theme parks).​

- Option to turn off the streetlamps during firework show. Maybe through the trigger system so we can choose which lights will be affected.
- When lights turned off they still look like they are turned on. Hopefully this can be improved with another "light off" texture in the future.
- Of course more lights is always a welcome thing. More flood lights, spotlights, led lights, strips, streetlamps, wall lamps and other show lights like the rotating joke lights or laser lights. Big joke spotlights for the outside to shine in the sky and smaller ones for inside our ride buildings.

- Slider to control light radius / brightness control. This should have more impact on radius/brightness than selecting a darker or lighter color in the color spectrum.

I agree with these suggestions (would love strobe/flickering effects!), and would also like to add that the addition of more varieties of generic wall and ceiling lamps would be a wonderful addition as well, including:
-fluorescent tube ceiling light fixtures for generic themed coaster stations
-high-beam sodium vapor floodlight wall fixtures for our backstage areas
-'industrial' looking wall and ceiling light fixtures

maybe also put a slider in for the excisting lights, so we can tune our scenes in darksrides better!
 
Another adition that would be absolutely amazing conserning lights would be the implementation of gobos.

In real-life, a gobo is a stencil placed in front of a light projector in order to give the projected light a certain shape.

It can be used for projecting a logo or a shape...

But beyond that, there are highly used in dark-rides, to emulate for instance some tree shadows, a windows, a sewer grate etc:

It's used a lot in dark-rides.

In the game, it could work with 256x256 black-and-white images:

Some already in stock, but then any user could import a picture.

Yes!! moaaar... I'm glad we got this improved night time in Planet Coaster compared to the older game. Remember that the lights started to act silly in RCT3 when they were too close?

Yeah enough that can be added. Only needed to look up the high-beam sodium vapor one, but yes those too.

It would be really good to have as option.

I added your suggestion. I forgot it. We can choose darker colors and such to make the radius smaller, but higher impact on this is welcome.


Might be wise to add some sort of warning in the thread title with the flashing images.

We did have something like this in RCT3 in the Wild! expansion, but it wasn't very handy. Loading in our own stencil (image) would open up a lot of possibilities. Only concern is ambient occlusion, but the lights we have do already have this for the most part (lights still shine through walls).

i would just be happy w/ lights that actually give off light. the more more u have to add to a park the slower the game gets
