Lighting

I wanted to gauge peoples opinion on the placable lights in the game.
They look great, the lighting effects are amazing.

One thing I'm hoping is tweaked is the amount of light that washes into the surrounding area - it doesn't seem enough.
What I mean is, in order to light up your park, even a fair amount, you need to place lights everywhere, too many to be practical for me.

I think the strength of most lights is nice, just that they should wash out over the nearby area more.

Thoughts?

Absolutely loving the lights, the colours and reflections are gorgeous. I find myself trying to come up with creative structures to place many lights but not have them ruin my scenery. I'd love some more adjust ability for them though, being able to angle the yoke to any angle would be amazing to really highlight those building facades.

Sliders for intensity and beam angle would be very useful to really accentuate your park at night. Perhaps even some colour mixing?

I don't have access to the ALPHA but I've seen many pics and videos of the lights in action and I love them!! Yes, I want as much control over them as I can get!

I love the lighting in Planet Coaster! I feel like the light amounts are actually very realistic for the light types that are featured in the game so far. Look at some pictures of real theme parks at night and you will notice that tons of lights are used and usually the areas are still not super well lit because that would spoil the atmosphere.

Of course everyone has their own aesthetics and someone might prefer a very brightly lit area for some reason. For that reason I'm all for adding some high intensity lights that accomplish that or having some of the lights be adjustable.

I disagree jpennin.
Build an 8 metre wide path, place Street lamps on both sides at very close intervals. Watch the sides of the path become lit, the middle, stays noticably dark.

In reality light would bleed to the middle of the path, washing it with a decent amount of even light, it looks silly and is very inconvenient the way it is at the moment.
