General / Off-Topic Lightning - 22/7/13

Got a few snaps of the thunderstorm about 9pm last night. Ignore the blemishes, the speed of the lightning caused banding and as I'm at work at the moment I can only do a very quick retouch (just to get rid of the dark/light bands - no lightning has been added!).

Apologies for the largeness..







Be interesting to see if anyone else captured the same storm.

(now for the relevancy to Elite) When ED has the ability to go into planet atmospheres I'll probably spend some time as an inter-planetary storm chaser :smilie:

You got some cracking shots there.

I've managed to capture lightning at night before, but I didn't manage to get any last night.

Thanks! First time I've tried with the 600D, next time more frames per second methinks. Hopefully get better results, just lower resolution.

Was tempted to get shots of the other storm from about 4am but was too knackered due to the heat.
