Like a Rabbit Caught in the Headlights (Dual Neutrons!)

Been away from the game for a bit but I was keen to see the new neutron star effects in 2.2 and since I'm currently in the neutron fields anyway I thought I'd check them out... and boy do they not dissapoint!

Check out this pair of neutrons in close orbit (just over 4LS apart). I felt like a rabbit in the headlights as I closed in on them. This is from about 100LS away. Had to close to ~5LS of each to scan them which was nerve wracking as I don't want to be melted!

I'm loving the new effects, and 2.2 seems to have brought some other nice little changes for explorers as well, like the information you get in HUD during FSD charge, always facing the right way for your next jump, and best of all the route planner seems to have been optimised as it's much faster plotting longer routes near the core than it was before. :D

That is an awesome shot!! Well done, Commander!

Question: When jumping into neutron star systems, do you still jump in right on top of them? I haven't been out exploring in a while and was wondering because I'm starting to feel a familiar itch...

Thanks. :)

Yes you do, and with the new effects it can be quite scary the first few times!
These particular ones were 45K LS away from the drop point, though. The main 'star' was a black hole.
