Horizons Like What...?

:DHi,
___Some Passenger Missions go as far as 30,000 Light Years to Deliver Passengers
Just to get Paid, others even requires to return to be paid...
___
SERIOUSLY, How do they expect This Game Players to Spend Weeks at a time just to Earn 30,000,000 Credits...
___Of Course, Is there a Catch in those kinds of 30,000 Light Years Passenger Missions...?:D
Is there supposed to be another Way to Travel 30,000 to 45,000 Light Years...?
Are There Other Means For Players to Figure Out And Find...?
Has Anyone of You All Figured Out, Can Anyone Explain...?:D

You would do better taking relatively short range passenger missions, one after the other. That way you aren't committed to a massive key-press-fest jumping from one star to the next and wondering how long the whole mission is going to take ! It can kill your enthusiasm for exploration if you have the time pressure of a mission.

You could take 10 missions and make as much in credits for about a tenth of the distance travelled.

Allright, How Do I Do That...?

:D
Have you explored using White Dwarf stars and Neutron Stars for incredible jump boosts?

Alright, ChipStar65... Now, How do I do Those things you Mentioned...?
Hope You're Not kidding...
Can you EXPLAIN In Clear Details...? That Is, If You're not Just being Humorous...

No joke. I have not yet needed to try this but it is well-documented in a number of places. Using the polar jets emitted by both white dwarf and neutron stars, a pilot can supercharge a jump from the system with such stars. I understand the exact boost is somewhat dependent on how you perform the maneuver, and it is dangerous, as both these types of compact stellar remnant give off very deadly radiation -- too close and you fry. I suggest some research before attempting it.

I don't do the long range passenger missions. The best way I found is to stack a couple short range, around 1000 Ly passenger missions, They are easy to find, go to a boom system that is relatively high end economy or industrial and find a couple that are going to either the same place or to places that are relatively close to each other. Pre nerf I was making 45-50 mil a trip plus the exploration data. And in a high jumping ship like an Anaconda or even an Orca, could make the 1000 Ly journey in an hour. With a 50 Ly jump range, that's about 20 jumps to go 1000 Lys. Once I completed the mission part then I would have another 3.5 weeks to just jump around and explore and gather first discoveries til I get bored and return rather quickly. If you notice some of the Sightseeing missions, you are jumping as much going to 3 or 4 locations they want you to go, but not making as much money. I've seen missions to Colonia or Sag A and upwards of 30k Lys away for 55 mil or so, but those trips are too far out to be all that worthwhile. The time frame is too short for me to be able to complete those missions even with the Neutron highway.

White dwarf boost isn't an awful lot and even the Neutron Star boost seems to me not sufficient to justify the diversions to use it in my travels so far. Obviously in different areas their preponderance might be enough to make them worthwhile.

YMMV as they say (well, not say just TXT ;) )

Lots of yootoob videos showing how to do this. It is not difficult as long as you avoid the exclusion zone on approach and enter the cone whilst heading away from the star and at not too steep an angle. You do take a small damage hit to your FSD from doing this (1 or 2% only) so best take an AFMU for long trips. It can be daunting the first few times:

Same here. I use Standard jumponium for most long-distance routes, cuts the number of jumps by around 40-50%. I collect enough mats for around 30 Standard jumps, plus a small supply of Premium mats for double boosts when necessary.

The reward for this kind of mission is really the exploration data.

Also explorers want to do stuff too. So they can take passengers AND explore at the same time.
Play it your way....

These missions give you

a) a set destination that will be something interesting like a black hole or a system full of stars
b) extra incentive to deep space explore

My last and I likely do mean LAST deep space mission was a 24Kly round trip. The mission took three weeks and netted 50 million but I also grabbed 75 million in data. It was tedious and I often considered self-destruct as a quick transportation method but I stuck with it. If that doesn't sound like the kind of ordeal you want to go through then don't take those missions.
