Limiting the grind / cheese (Powerplay V2 'care package' lite idea for everyone)

A simple idea that might help stop cheese / grind / relogs, or at least make them less frequent:

In the soon to be released Powerplay 2 (hngggg! So close!) the devs explained that you have a tiered reward system that 'ends' with a care package that contains mystery stuff.

Now, reading threads like cheese (hehehehhehe) why not expand it to the rest of the game in a limited way?

Using the Pilots Fed ranks could you have tailored care rewards each week for each rank? So each discipline gets materials, scan data etc in amounts that reflect your standing that can be used in engineering.

This would then make getting all ranks worth your time and maybe smooth out the need to relog, as well as make being a Pilots Fed dogsbody make sense.

This could be expanded to Superpowers, with your standing giving you small perks perhaps.
 
lol. so basically add 'dailies' to the game so ppl have to log in to claim their rewards based upon time rather than effort.

Then fdev can add something - maybe call it a battlepass? - so that you can skip that time-based login. Kerching!

Not a bad idea. Rewards / spawns should be better with higher rank. Also, more raw material spawns in systems you're allied with the controlling faction. And higher reputation with factions would spawn more manufactured mats in HGEs.

Or based on your rank rather than more spawning increase the amount you get for each item from the current three.

Yes, that's what I wanted to say, I meant the amount of mats, not the number of HGEs, meteorites, etc. Thanks.

So instead of module shoppers delivering merits willy nilly, sometimes to the detriment of a power, for modules, we will have them doing so for "mystery" gifts?
I love loot boxes, and that is what this would be, as much as the next person, but I am not really feeling it.
 
getting the 'rewards' available in the game is not what is missing from the game to avoid relogging and gaming the mechanics.

it's that the mechanics are extremely repetitive and copies of the same interaction. there is no reason to play it the right way because you have done it a hundred times and will see or experience nothing new.

the mechanics are uninspired and do not take advantage of any kind of procedural mechanic themselves. they are just throw away copies of the same handful of events. until that changes, players will treat it as the cheap ignorable barriers to whatever it is they are trying to do that they are.
