Limpet cargo?

I killed an NPC Python tonight and before he died he dropped about 20 cannisters of 'Limpet'. I managed to pick 3 up (and got fined by the feds in the process) but I am unable to sell them, even on the black market (also tried a Luxury Trader), including an anarchy station (a strange one that wasn't selling anything )

I've seen Limpet as prohibited at some stations before but no idea what to do with it (other than jettison it :( ).

They are ammunition of a module you can install onto your ship. A seeking weapon that will break a ship's cargo hatch and force to jettison cargo

Was wondering that after I posted.. odd that you can scoop them up  - a bug? I don't have a hatch breaker (not being in the pirate trade).

It's intended... the limpet ammunition resides in your cargo bay. Not sure how to get rid of it if you don't have the launcher coz as you discovered you cant sell it. I think I jettisoned it, from memory.

Some NPCs carry them so pirates don't have to keep returning to base in order to fill up with limpets, basically. If you pirate a ship carrying limpets (and they drop) you'll be able to stock up then go on pirating that and other ships, ad infinitum.

Thanks - thats actually pretty cool in that case :). Wondering if it can be jettisoned at a ship *cough* ;)

As someone already mentioned , they are ammo for the; 'Hatch breaker limpet controller' module, buy the module , have limpets as ammo. Then you take down targets shield and 'fire' the limpet at them to hack the cargo hatch, they often don't work or get shot down by pdt's is my experience with them.
