Limpet Engineering Idea

Here's two thoughts I have on Engineering in regards to limpets;
Could you take a limpet controller of any kind and allow it to be engineered with another limpet controller type? Here's the specifications:
1. Buy a limpet controller (fuel, for this example).
2. Go to an engineer that specializes in limpet modification. (like The Sarge or Tiana)
3. Modify the limpet to include software that also does repair. Perhaps taking a reduced percent of the primary limpet capabilities and applying that to the secondary.
4. To use the second type, simply switch your mode (combat/analysis). In this example, use the fuel limpet using analysis (as is normal in game), and use combat for repairs.

Second idea:
We have lots of limpet options in outfitting. How about switching to a software style that you can take a limpet and apply said software to it to change its programming capabilities? I mean, when you deploy a limpet the voice says "programming limpet", so it feels more like a software option than hardware. When you want to switch between limpet types: visit a station and pay a fee for reprogramming the software based on the limpet module size and type of limpet software.

Finally, why no engineer for repair limpets?
Thoughts?
 
We already got an extra Module slot. So you could have refuel in that spot. Maybe what players need to start taking account Ship size dose matter.
