Limpete collecting ship materials?

Silly question, but I can't seem to figure out whether limpets can be used to collect materials from ships (e.g. worn shield emitters) if you're bounty hunting? It's just to save the hassle of having to stop and use the cargo scoop.

Yes they can.

Also, If you just want one specific item and not the other junk, you can target it first,launch the limpet and it will collect just that item and then self destruct.

Well, he/she probably got an answer on here quicker than it would have taken to goto outfitting, install one, go shoot something and then see what happened.

Besides, the forums are the place to ask questions, I wouldn't discourage it.

True, just so many people on here saying there's no content, everything is the same, so much grind yada yada - and so many threads asking questions that will take 5 minutes to try out and be 'a new thing' for that CMDR. Wonder if the two things are related

Absolutely. They can also collect materials from USS's.

I converted an Asp Scout to a dedicated "clean up" ship for this exact purpose.
It's also good fun to hang out with bounty-hunters in a wing and hang back and just clean up after them this way as well.

Same here but I am building a CZ Sweeper out of an FAS. I find I go through a lot of rolls on weapons trying to hit specific secondaries and that's quite a lot of what is in CZs, but I haven't had the optional slots to sacrifice for collectors but its sooooo much mats to let go that I know I need/can't be bother to individually scoop
