Limpets are still pathed poorly

I'll be honest, one thing i was dreaming for was that collection limpets would come directly to the ships now, especially since mining is a bigger hassle to gather with just about the same rewards as before. Having the limpets continue to drop 50,000 leagues under the ship before returning to the cargo bay is taking up precious time.

So, I shall ask again, can we PLEASE update the limpet return paths?

Nope.

Lets assume that the limpets return to a 'hatch' in your hull. let us also assume that that hatch is on the underside of your ship.

Remember that this limpet needs to ryeturn to your ship regardless of how you move in the meantime. The safest way to do this is for the limpets to plot a path to that hatch that means they arrive in a vector that is perpendicular to your hull. It is also safest for them to have a long approach to your ship rather than performing vector changes close to the ship.

All looks pretty well thought out and sensible to me.

The negative Z vertical distance does seem excessive, and then the exchange is close to instantaneous. Feels more like a hand over to a canned animation rather than actual pathing to the ship. I wonder if the pathing occurs to the defined negative z point, then the animation takes over? Tough to know.

Something OP should also add: limpets still like to crash on rocks. They got better at pathing and don’t do it as frequently, but they will still crash and explode in inconvenient ways.

Collector limpets are insulting. They fuss excessively over their return vector to your cargo hatch, but asteroids? Ships? Mines? Wreckage?

"Bah, who cares. I'm a limpet! I'll just go straight for the carg-*POP*"

Everything about collector limpets is infuriating. Yes, everything.
