So I tried using Mining Limpets a few weeks ago, and each limpet seems to beetle back and forth picking up as many chunks as it can... and then it expires.
Today I tried Collector Limpets (different ship, and it's possible these limpets and their controller are the same as for mining), and used them to collect Materials after I won a combat against an NPC. First, it seemed I had to target a Material and then fire/launch the limpet. The limpet quickly brought back the item but then the limpet immediately expired, and I had to launch a fresh limpet to collect material #2. For eight Materials I was able to use my four limpets to automatically collect four, and had to use traditional cargo scooping for the rest.
Is that 'as intended' and it's one limpet to collect one Material? Whereas in Mining teach limpet gets busy and collects as many mining chunks as it can, before some expiry timer ends their activity?
TIA
